While you are here, why not take the pledge for sustainability - your first step towards shaping our common future.

Environmental jurisprudence in India has steadily evolved over the past few decades. While protecting and improving the natural environment are enshrined as both rights and duties in the Constitution of India, there is a need for legal consciousness which takes into account the inextricable nature of the environmental, social and economic dimensions of judicial decision-making. In fact, an integrated, indivisible approach is also a key emphasis of Agenda 2030.
But, are we attuned to this approach? Legal Eyes is an attempt at evaluating the readiness of the Indian judiciary to promote sustainable development.

Context-conscious and holistic sustainable development perspectives are integral to ensure an improvement in bio-conservation, citizen’s rights to health and quality of life. This necessitates a comprehensive approach which accommodates, reconciles and aligns legal policies with environmental protection and social justice.
Participants need to identify and critically analyse an appropriate judgement/s of the Supreme Court of India/High Courts in India. The reasoning of the critical analysis must be formed from the perspective of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
