The Chairperson for Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal, has made a name for herself with her dedicated work on women safety and empowerment, right to information and local self-governance.
Before being appointed to her current position, she served as the Advisor (grievance) to the office of the Chief Minister of Delhi; as Development Consultant to several Members of the Legislative Assembly of Delhi; as the Head for a pan-India coalition on participatory governance - Swaraj Abhiyaan and; as the youngest member of the core committee of the nation-wide anti-corruption movement ‘India Against Corruption’.
Her research and experiences have been incorporated in “Swaraj” – a book which makes a fresh case for decentralization of power by Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. Previously, she has also been invited to share her experiences at various forums including IIT Delhi and Google Hyderabad.
